If were being completely honest, the current putrid state of the Lakers was almost enough to keep Xavier Henry, their young guard out of Kansas, off this list. Kobe or no Kobe, theres something fundamentally unsettling about seeing the Lakers in the basement, looking up at the Clippers in the penthouse with more than double the wins.
The situation forced me to do some overdramatic soul searching particularly overdramatic in that Im not even a Lakers fan. In the end, though, Henrys hypnotic green eyes and inviting smile triumphed. A victory he should savor and share with his teammates because, this year, wins are few and far between.
