Dahlia is a close relative of chrysanthemum, daisy, dandelion, marigold and zinnia and is a member of the Asteraceae or aster/sunflower family. Dahlia flowers are remarkable because of their diversity in bloom shape and color. Their meanings range from a sign of warning to change or travel and even a sign of betrayal. In Victorian period, dahlia meant flower that has survived . Symbolically, the dahlia denotes elegance and dignity.
