Every 42.6gram serving of pitted dates an amount equivalent to five or six dates provides 5.8 percent of the RDA of magnesium for adult women and 4.5 percent of the RDA of magnesium for men.Dates are an excellent source of iron, contains 0.90 mg/100 g of fruits (about 11% of RDI). Iron, being a component of hemoglobin inside the red blood cells, determines the oxygencarrying capacity of the blood.
