One study, published in the Journal of the Medical Association of Thailand in 2007, found that unknown compounds in nutmeg were able to fight the growth of leukemia cells in testtube studies. An additional testtube study, published in the May 2005 issue of Toxicology Letters, found that nutmeg promoted brain cancer cell death.
