Nandi Avatar

Enter any Shiva temple in the country and you will first witness a statue of the quietly formidable Nandi, Lord Shivas mount and the divine gatekeeper. Lord Shiva represents all beings on Earth. This avatar of Lord Shiva is an indication towards it. There are some temples which are exclusively built for Nandi. The famous Nandisvara temple in Karnataka is one such.
