History of Kumquat

Kumquats are generally indigenous to China. It is stated that within the 12th century in 1178 A.D. kumquat is already pointed out Chinese literature. A European author in 1646 talked about the fruit as previously being explained to him by the Portuguese missionary who had worked well 22 years in China. In 1712, kumquats were contained within a listing of plants grown in Japan. Theyve been developed in Europe as well as North America ever since the mid 19th Century, mostly as decorative dooryard trees and also as potted types in outdoor patios as well as green houses.
