The Descent into Hell of the Damned is a painting by Peter Paul Rubens in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich . It was built around 1620 during the Thirty Years' War. The painting has a hell fall on, a traditional motif of Christian art. Of a light beam between the dark clouds of crashes Archangel Michael hurls forth and large amounts of naked bodies down.
