The Absinthe Drinker

The Absinthe Drinker" by Picasso

This painting was created by Picasso in 1903, during his Blue Period (a time when Picasso's paintings were dominated by tones of blue; when he was in his twenties). It features the artist Angel Fernandez de Soto, who was apparently more enthusiastic about partying and drinking than his painting1, and who shared a studio with Picasso in Barcelona on two occasions.
