Tom Cruise attended a Franciscan seminary

Though Tom Cruise is now a believer of Scientology in his teens wanted to be a priest. At 14 years of age, he attended a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati. Inspired by a talk at St. Raphael the Archangel school in Louisville he wished to attend the seminary. It is believed that Cruise attended the seminary for education rather than to become a priest. After completing his first year at the seminary Cruise enrolled at St. Xaviers in Louisville. Cruise has stated that the only reason for leaving the seminary was he found it difficult to give up on women and other materialistic attributes.
