Helen Mirren worked as a promoter for an amusement park in Southend on Sea

Even before her first leading role in television as Cousin Bette for the BBC in the 70s. Helen Mirren was a promoter to make ends meet. Her job was to attract customers for rides at The Kursaal amusement park in Southend-on-sea, Essex, U.K. This little fascinating role turned out to be an odd first job to Mirren, who received the Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2003. It is still undecided if she won as many a punters to take rides in the amusement park as her awards like Oscar, BAFTAs, Emmy awards, SAG, Golden Globes, etc.
