BUTRINT ALBANIA
A melting pot of cultures and civilisations Butrint had been inhabited since pre historic times. Transforming from a Greek Colony through Roman occupation and then down through history the site was finally abandoned in the late Middle ages by its Venetian rulers. It was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1992.
