The Bamendjing reservoir located in Bamendjing in Cameroon was built in 1975. It dams the Noun River. This river flows from the western region of Cameroon where it arises from Lake Oku and flows towards the south. The Monoun River joins it and they flow south together into the valley between mountains Mount Yahou and Ngotsetzezan. The reservoir has a maximum length of 32 km and is 276 km wide. The surface area of this reservoir varies from 150 km? to 300 km?. The reservoir houses various kinds of flora and fauna all year long such as hippopotamus, many birds like Palm nut Vulture, hammerkop, kingfisher, beeeater, etc.
