What Is Per Diem

Per diem is the Latin word that means per day or for each day. Per diem has several meanings related to Human Resources. Per diem is a daily allowance paid to employees for lodging and for meals, travel expenses, gas, and incidental expenses for each employee to spend per day on a business trip or when traveling away from their main office for business.
