Opened in 2003 the Magdeburg Water Bridge is a largenavigable aqueductnear Magdeburg in central Germany. Connecting the Mittellandkanal andElbe Havel Canalon the Elbe River the bridge allows large commercial ships to pass between theRhinelandandBerlinwithout having to descend into and then climb out of the Elbe itself.
