When we fall why do we fall down and not up

The reason we always fall down is because of Earth's gravity, a force that pulls us down towards it centre. So whenever we fall, we always fall down and not fall up. Sir Isaac Newton discovered the phenomenon of Gravity as he was sitting under an apple tree and suddenly an apple fell down from the tree.
