Where in some countries bamboo leaves are used in traditional preparations to induce abortions in early pregnancy, in the last stage of pregnancy, bamboo serves a natural inducer to encourage labour contractions. It is used to promote the easy delivery of both the baby as well as the placenta, and prevent excessive bleeding following birth in the mother.
