Doom is a 1993 sciencefiction horrorthemed firstpersonshooter that is considered one of the most significant and influential titles in gaming history for having pioneered the nowubiquitous firstperson shooter. However, it has been controversial for its violence and satanic themes, and was even blamed for the Columbine High School massacre when the tragedy occurred, with some claiming that the perpetrators, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, were fanatic players of the game.
