TRINIDAD AND THE VALLEY DE LOS INGENIOS CUBA
Founded as a staging point for the further conquest of the Americas the Cuban city of Trinidad is located in the central province of Sancti Spritus. Despite its exploratory origins the city owes it wealth and architecture to rapid expansion of the regions sugar industry in the late 18th century prompting to the construction of notable buildings such as the Palacio Brunet and the Palacio Cantero. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1988.
