Its difficult to conceive of a more picturesque alpine scene: Take 800 square metres of emeraldgreen, canoefriendly lake, wrap it in dramatic Rocky Mountain peaks (pictured), and add a glittering glacier at one end. When the waters freeze in winter,Lake Louiseis arguably even more scenic, with skaterscrisscrossing the ice, festive fairy lights adorning the hotel and avalanches rumbling down the surrounding slopes.
