The Continuum Julie Penrose Fountain designed by David Barber and Bill Burgess is a sculptural fountain representing the life giving movement of water between the atmosphere and the earth. The fountain was originally FUNDED in part by a generous gift to the City of Colorado Springs from the El Pomar Foundation in order to advance Julie Penrose passion for arts and culture. It provides a free safe entertainment for children and adults of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.The Friends of Julie Penrose Fountain is a non profit FUND of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation and accepts tax deductible donations from the public to sustain the operating and maintenance costs of this fountain in perpetuity ensuring that the Julie Penrose Fountain remains free for all to enjoy.Water flows inside the rotating sculpture and into wading pools. It was dedicated June 7 2007 at America the Beautiful Park at 126 Cimino Drive. Named The Continuum by the sculptor.
