Jitendra Singh (born 12 June 1971) is the former Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent charge) and the Minster of State for Defence, Government of India. He assumed this charge on 28 October 2012. Formerly, Jitendra Singh was the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India; a position that he assumed in July 2011. He is the Member of Parliament representing the Alwar constituency of Rajasthan, and the pretender to the defunct throne of Alwar. Jitendra Singh is a member of the Indian National Congress.Jitendra Singh is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and MoS for Prime Minister Office Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space.Mr Singh had joined BJP in 2009 and is a member of the partys National Executive Committee.He is also Chief Spokesperson for the Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP.
Dr Singh, 57, contested Lok Sabha election from Udhampur and defeated former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
