Why is sea water salty
The combined presence of minerals salts, chemicals and dead remains of marine animals makes the water salty. Most of these minerals come from rivers and streams that add water to the sea, rainfalls, weathering of rocks below the sea. Also during evaporation process, pure water is evaporated from the sea and concentrated salt water is left behind. Thus the water remains salty.
