Italian Oregano
Benefits of Oregano

Italian Oregano
Italian oregano (Origanum x majoricum) is a hybrid of common oregano and sweet marjoram (Origanum majorana). Hardy in USDA zones 6 through 9, this variety is sterile and must be propagated from cuttings or by division. It has delicate, light green leaves and off white flower spikes and grows into an upright mound that does not spread. Italian oregano combines the pungent flavor of Greek oregano with the mild flavor of sweet marjoram to produce a pleasant tasting culinary herb, notes the Wisconsin Master Gardener Program.
