11. Ministry of Culture and Tourism Launch Swachchha BharatAbhiyan from the Historic Red Fort Delhi
The Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Shripad Naik here today (25.09.2014) launched the cleanliness drive under the Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan from the Historic Red Fort in the presence of senior officials of Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Archaeological Survey of India.An MoU was also signed on the occasion between ASI, ONGC and Ministry of Tourism.
12. Union Minster for MSME launches clearness campaign
Shri Kalraj Mishra, the Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the Ministry of MSME in letter and spirit here today (25.09.2014).The Minister led by example by cleaning the floor of a section and arranging files in another thereby setting the tone for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.While remembering Mahatma Gandhi famous quote, Cleanliness is next to Godliness, the Minister said the Government is committed to providing a clean and healthy environment.
13. Swachh BharatSwachh Vidyalaya Campaign
The Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Smt Smriti Irani initiated the Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign at Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Delhi today (25.09.2014) by participating in the cleanliness drive along with the school teachers and students.
14. Railways to Launch Massive Cleanliness Campaign throughout the Country on 2nd October 2014 under Swachh Bharat Mission
As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission announced by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi , Indian Railways will be launching a massive special cleanliness campaign on 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti Diwas involving Shramdaan and awareness activities throughout the country.Speaking to media here today (25.09.2014), the Minister of Railways Shri D.V.Sadananda Gowda said that entire fraternity of more than 13lakh Railway men or women including officers and staff will be involved in this campaign, either in theShramdaan relating to cleanliness activity or in spreading awareness on cleanliness.
15. Union Home Minister launches intensive cleanliness campaign by MHA
The Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh launched an intensive cleanliness campaign by the Ministry of Home Affairs, here today (25.09.2014).While addressing the employees in the North Block, Shri Rajnath Singh said that the government is determined to provide a clean, green and hygienic India by involving both the government as well as the people in this campaign.
16. LOGO of Swachh Bharat Mission unveiled
Ahead of the launch of Swasth Bharat Mission by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the LOGO for the five year long cleanliness mission was today unveiled by Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Urban Development and Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Rural Development and Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation here today.Explaining the features of the Logo, Shri Venkaiah Naidu said, the spectacles of Mahatma with its bridge in the Tricolor signifies the nation uniting to achieve the vision of Mahama for a Clean India.He further said, for the Mahatma, cleanliness and India were like his two eyes through which he envisioned a clean India.The Minister recalled Gandhiji saying that Cleanliness is Godliness and Sanitation is more important than political freedom.
17. Swachh Bharat Mission Logo and Tagline contest winners to be felicitated by Prime Minister
Winners of the contest for suggesting the LOGO and the Tag Line for Swachh Bharat Mission will be felicitated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on October 2, 2014 on the occasion of the launching of the Mission.
18. Restructuring of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan into Swachh Bharat Mission
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today (24.09.2014) gave its approval for restructuring of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) into Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and revision in the components of the programme as follows.NBA will be restructured into the Swachh Bharat Mission with two subMissions Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).Budgetary provisions for the two subMissions will be provided separately in the demand for Grant of the Ministries of Drinking Water and Sanitation (for Gramin) and Ministry of Urban Development (for Urban).Necessary changes will be made from the RE Budget for 201415 onwards.The Mission will be kickstarted on 2nd October 2014.If necessary, funds may be provided by reappropriation or from the Contingency Fund.
19. Swachh Bharat Programme for Urban Areas
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today (24.09.2014) gave its approval for a massive program called Swachh Bharat Mission for Urban Areas.This is proposed to be implemented over 5 years starting from 2nd October, 2014 in all 4041 statutory towns.The total expected cost of the programme over 5 years is Rs.62,009 crore, out of which the proposed Central assistance will be of Rs.14,623 crore.
20. MoD to Launch Clean Cantonments Drive from 25 Sept 2014
Responding to the Prime Minister clarion call to the people of India to realize Mahatma Gandhi dream of Swachh Bharat (Clean India) by 2nd October 2019 Ministry of Defence has decided to undertake an intensive national cleanliness campaign w.e.f 25th September 2014.
