PM invites nine public figures to contribute to Swachh Bharat and share their experience .
1. PM launches Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today (2.10.2014) exhorted people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi vision of Clean India.Launching the Swachh Bharat Abhan at Rajpath in New Delhi, the Prime Minister paid homage to two great sons of Mother India, Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, on their birth anniversary.
2. PM Shri Narendra Modi message on Swachh Bharat
I am sure you have heard time and again that cleanliness is next to Godliness.Alas, things are often different when it comes to putting this into practice.On 2nd October we are launching Swachh Bharat Mission, a massive mass movement, that seeks to create a Clean India.Cleanliness was very close to Mahatma Gandhi heart.A clean India is the best tribute we can pay to Bapu when we celebrate his 150th birth anniversary in 2019.Mahatma Gandhi devoted his life so that India attains Swarajya.Now the time has come to devote ourselves towards Swachchhata (cleanliness) of our motherland.I urge every one of you to devote at least hundred hours every year, that is two hours every week towards cleanliness.We cant let India remain unclean any longer.On 2nd October I myself will set out with a broom and contribute towards this pious task.Today, I appeal to everyone, particularly political and religious leadership, mayors, sarpanchs and captains of industry to plan and wholeheartedly engage in the task of cleaning your homes, work places, villages, cities and surroundings.I request your active support and participation in our collective quest to make a Swachh Bharat.
3. Swachh Bharat Mission Initiatives by various Ministries
Seeking to convert Swachh Bharat Mission into a Jan Andolan, the Ministry of Urban Development has enabled an online platform to enable the citizens network with each other locally and at national level to collectively take up cleanliness activities.In this regard, the Ministry is taking the help of LocalCircles, a community social media platform.
4. Power Coal MNRE PSUs to Construct 50000 Toilets in Schools Work on 1001 Toilets to begin
As a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission , the Public Sector Undertakings ( PSUs) under the Ministries of Power, Coal and New Renewable Energy will construct 50,000 toilets in schools all over the country within next one year up to August 2015.The work of 1001 toilets will begin tomorrow, 2nd October 2014 in various states.
5. MoD organises Interactive Session with Founder of Sulabh International on Swachh Bharat Campaign
In the series of activities being organised by Ministry of Defence under Swachh Bharat mission, today (29.09.2014) a talk and interactive session was organised on the issue of importance of cleanliness and initiatives to be taken to achieve the goal of clean India.On this occasion, Dr.Bindeshwar Pathak founder of Sulabh International made a visual presentation and shared his views and experience with others in the field of hygiene and sanitation.
6. Dr Jitendra Singh participates in Clean India for Healthy India drive
Dr.Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS in Prime Minister Office (PMO), Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Space and Atomic Energy has participated in the Swachh Bharat, Swastha Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India for Healthy India drive), the exercise undertaken by the Department of Personnel Training (DoPT) in the North Block premises at (29.09.2014).
7. Ram Vilas Paswan launches Swachh Bharat Mission at FCI
Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan kicked off Swachh Bharat Mission at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) headquarter here today (29.09.2014) with an appeal to the employees to whole heartedly join the countrywide cleanliness drive.
8. Uma Bharti launches Cleanliness Drive in Water Resources Ministry
Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti launched a special cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Ahbiyan in her Ministry today (27.09.2014).Senior officials and staff of the Ministry joined the Minister with full enthusiasm in the drive which was carried out in Shram Shakti Bhawan.
9. Minister for Law and Justice Participates in Clean IndiaCampaign Directs All Officers to Carry Forward the Initiative
The Minister for Law and Justice and Telecom and IT, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, today (26.09.2014) launched cleanliness drive at ShastriBhawan compound as part of the Prime Minister, Shri NarendraModifavourite initiative under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission).
10. Government to spend about 2 lakh Crore rupees for SwachhBharat Mission More than 11 crore toilets will be built in 5 years
The Union Minister of Rural Development and Drinking Water and Sanitation Shri Nitin Gadkari said that Swachh Bharat Mission will be converted into a mass movement to make India an open defecation free country in Five Years.Addressing a Joint Press conference with the Urban Development Minister Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu here this afternoon, Shri Gadkari said, one lakh thirty four thousand crore rupees will be spent for construction of about 11 crore 11 lakh toilets in the country.
