Precautions while using Washing Machine
These tips should help you and your family to stay safe when using a washing machine.
41. Auto drainage
Auto drain is a very useful feature as it reduces your work. You dont need to get up and drain the water yourself. Besides, it also prevents the washed clothes from remaining in the dirty water. Most fully automatic washing machines feature the auto drainage facility, while a few semi automatic machines may also have this feature.
42. Hot water wash
Hot water washes clean clothes better, so some high end washing machines include the hot water wash feature. This feature is particularly useful when washing difficult stains and murky clothes.
43. Danger
Before inspecting or servicing machine, power supply must be turned OFF. The servicer needs to wait for at least 3 minutes after turning the power OFF and needs to check for residual voltage with a voltage meter. The inverter capacitor or EMC filter remains charged with high voltage for some time after powering OFF. This is an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will cause severe personal injury or death.
44. Connecting water supply hose
Water supply pressure must be between 100 kPa and 1000 kPa 1.0 10.0 kgf cm2
.Do not strip or crossthread when connecting inlet hose to the valve. If the water supply pressure is more than 1000 kPa, a decompression device should be installed.Periodically check the condition of the hose and replace the hose if necessary.
45. Caring before loading
Combine large and small items in a load. Load large items first. Large items should not be more than half the total wash load. Do not wash single items.
46. Maintenance
Before cleaning the washer interior, unplug the electrical power cord to avoid electrical
shock hazards.Turn off the stopcock if the machine is to be left for any length of time e.g. holiday ,especially if there is no floor drain gully in the immediate vicinity.
47. The drain pump filter
The drain filter collects threads and small objects left in the laundry.Check regularly that the filter is clean to ensure smooth running of your machine.
48. Dispenser drawer
After a while, detergents and fabric softeners leave a deposit in the drawer. It should be cleaned from time to time with a jet of running water. If necessary it can be removed completely from the machine by pressing the catch downwards and by pulling it out.To facilitate cleaning, the upper part of the fabric softener compartment can be removed.
49. Call a professional to fix any serious problems
If you hear any weird noises, or it starts doing something strange, dont attempt to fix the machine yourself. You could invalidate your warranty, not to mention seriously harm yourself in the process.
50. Move the machine
Check that there are at least 4 inches between your washing machine and the wall. This prevents hoses from kinking.
