A Christmas tree is a decorated tree, usually an evergreen conifer such as spruce, pine.
21. Noble fir
This Pacific Northwest native has a full, rounded silhouette thankst o thick, silvery green needles and branches that stick straight out from the trunk. Its symmetrical shape makes it a great pick, and the superstrong limbs can support heavy ornaments.
22. Douglas fir
One of the most popular Christmas trees in the Pacific Northwest, this fir has sift blue green or dark green needles that give off a fragrance when crushed. Lighter inweight than other varieties, it can be easier to transport home and manipulate in a stand.
23. Fraser fir
You can tell a Fraser from a balsam by the pair of silvery stripes on the underside of each needle. Concentrated in mountainous parts of the South, Frasers have sturdy, upturned branches that are ideal for showcasing ornaments; they also retain their needles better than other varieties.
24. Scotch pine
With long, flexible needles, ranging from bright green to blusih, this pine has a soft, fluffy look. Grown in the Eastern states, Scotches have firm branches and dense foliage; they are best paired with bold ornaments that wont get lost in the boughs.
25. Grand fir
With bicolor needles deep green on top, white striped underneath Abies grandis makes a rich foil for ornaments. It grows well where winters are long, summers are cool, and the air is humid and pristine.
26. Eastern red cedar
Native to the eastern half of North America, Juniperus virginiana makes a great cut or living tree with homespun appeal and pungent fragrance. In the landscape, it tolerates drought, wind, and cold.
27. Virginia pine
One of the few evergreens to tolerate warm winter temps, Pinus virginiana is a first pick among Christmas trees for Southerners. Its also a good cut tree because, like all pines, it holds its needles well.
28. Eastern white pine
Soft green color, long needles, and rich fragrance make Pinus strobus worthy of yuletide focus. Adaptable, fast growing, and moisture loving, this pine produces long, decorative cones.
