The Coolest Cars at Goodwoods

1. GOODWOOD MOVING MOTOR SHOW
This weekend holds the most important festival of the petrolheads calendar. No, not that small music show down in Somerset, but the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It started on Thursday with the Moving Motor Show, where visitors could watch and even drive a variety of new cars from a long list of manufacturers from a Ford Transit to a Ferrari California T.We reckon moving motor shows are the best kind of motor shows. Here are the coolest cars that were on offer. The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicked off with its Moving Motor Show. Heres what you could have driven.
2. ASTON MARTIN DB9 GT
Only announced the day before, we were lucky enough to jump in the new Aston Martin DB9 GT for a blast up Goodwoods hillclimb. Packing 547hp its the most potent DB9 ever, hitting 62mph in 4.5 seconds. Its 6.0 litre V12 engine was certainly vocal enough to attract the attention of the crowds at Goodwood.
3. MAZDA MX 5
Arguably the most talked about new car of 2015, Mazda was offering lucky visitors the chance to drive the new MX 5. Combining 50:50 distribution with modest power and low weight, its a return to form for Britains favourite sports car.
4. FERRARI CALIFORNIA T
Sceptical of Ferrari following the turbocharging trend with its California T? We doubt many people were disappointed after taking one of these up the hill climb on the scorching day of the Moving Motor Show.
5. FORD MUSTANG
The new Ford Mustang will be the first model ever to be sold in Europe, and the German registered example on Fords stand is one of the first in the country. We took it out for a spin at the Moving Motor Show and found even the 2.3 litre Ecoboost was more than enough for the tight hillclimb.
6. HONDA CIVIC TYPE R
The most hyped hot hatch of the year? Weve been waiting ages for the new Honda Civic Type R. All the publicity its been getting seems to have worked, judging by the queue to book a ride in one at Goodwood.
7. LEXUS RC F
Eco friendly premium car manufacturer Lexus has done something a little bad. The BMW M4 rivalling RC F is flawed at best, but we still like it lots. And so do you, going by the reaction it was getting at the Moving Motor Show.
8. MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS
The most powerful MINI ever, the new John Cooper Works not only sounds great, it has the performance to match. Is there a more suitable car for driving up the hill at Goodwood?
9. MASERATI GHIBLI
It might just be a BMW 5 Series rival, but the Maserati Ghibli looks fantastic and was attracting plenty of attention at the Moving Motor Show. We wonder how many people went away and ordered one?
10. PEUGEOT 308 GT
The new 308 GTI was causing a scene over at Peugeots Festival of Speed stand, but visitors to the Moving Motor Show had to make do with the 205hp 308 GT.
