Precaution while using Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine created in 1796 by Samuel .
11. Leave gap
As far as possible, leave gap of at least 20 minutes before and after taking the medicine and have your eatables / meals. The legal status of homeopathic remedies in the United States is unique. In 1938, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act was sponsored by Senator Royal Copeland who also happened to be a homeopathic physician. The senator wrote wording into his bill that recognized all products listed in the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States as drugs and made them subject to regulation by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The legislation passed, and as a result, homeopathic products are legally sold in food stores, pharmacies, and elsewhere as a unique category of drug.
12. Do not brush your teeth before you take the dose
If a dose of medicine is suggested in the morning immediately after you get up, do not brush your teeth before you take the dose. Just rinse your mouth with PLAIN water and take the dose, as strong smelling toothpaste or mouthwash may interfere with the action of the remedy.
13. Never go beyond the suggested deadline
Never go beyond the suggested deadline before you visit or write to your doctor. If the doctor has asked you to take the medicine for 15 days and report later, you must do it soon. If you cannot report after 15 days, you may stop your medicine before you report to him but do not continue the same medicine beyond stipulated time period.
14. Maintain the same timing
Take your homeopathic medicines exactly on the suggested time. As far as possible, maintain the same timing if you have been asked to take medicines daily. Homeopathic remedies are taken by mouth or applied to the skin (used topically) for a range of conditions including the common cold, swine flu, and flu (influenza), hayfever, asthma, eye infections (conjunctivitis), diarrhea, cancer, dermatitis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), anxiety, depression, fatigue and stress, migraineheadache, tension headache, osteoarthritis, muscle pain, motion sickness, otitis media, and many other conditions.
15. Medicines reduces the potency of the medicines
Do not take on to your palm before taking it, as handling of medicines reduces the potency of the medicines. It also spoils the medicines by exposing it to unhygienic conditions. Always take the medicines by using the cap of the medicine bottle or a plain paper. If you are going to use a paper then see to it that it does not contain any print. As ink can also spoil the medicine.
16. The half an hour rule
Do not eat or drink anything half an hour before and after taking the medicines. That means if you wish to take medicine at 12 o'clock then do not consume anything from 11.30 to 12; take the medicine on 12 o' clock and then till 12.30 do not consume anything. The only exception to this rule is water. Drinking water is permissible after or before five minutes of taking the medicines.
17. Addictions
Do not smoke, chew tobacco, and drink alcohol while you are taking homoeopathic medicines, as it may have nullifying effects on the medicines. Homeopathy was started over 200 years ago by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann. The word comes from Greek and literally means similar disease. Homeopathic products usually contain extreme dilutions of herbs, minerals, or other substances. Common homeopathic ingredients include aconite, antimonium, arnica, belladonna, chamomile, iron, mercury, magnesium, nux vomica, poison ivy, and many others. These products are often so dilute that they do not contain any of the original active ingredient.
18. Coffee
A debatable topic when it comes to homoeopathy. With recent research studies it has been explained that if you follow: not to have anything half an hour before and after the medicine rule then coffee does no harm even if you are taking homoeopathic medicines BUT for some homoeopathic medicines coffee acts as an antidote; as there are medicines prepared by using coffee in the crude as well as in the roasted form. That is why your homoeopath will be a right person to guide you whether coffee will do or not along with the homoeopathic medicines you are taking.
19. Strong smelling substances
Once you are following the half an hour rule then you can eat raw onion, garlic, ginger, and other strong smelling substances along with the homoeopathic medicines. Homeopathic medicines should never be touched directly by putting on to the palm. They are supposed to be consumed directly from the bottle. In case the medicine is a liquid form, then a dropper needs to be used for the consumption of the medicine. If the medicine is touched with hands, this might result in the spirit blended with the medicine being taken off. Actually, it is the spirit blended with the pills, the most important constituent of homeopathic medications.
20. Other dietary restrictions
It is not mandatory for homoeopathic treatment to follow certain dietary restrictions exceptionally for homoeopathic medicines. BUT for diseases like bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, gout, or the disease which the intensity of which increases after taking a certain food items you need to follow the dietary restrictions for some period till you start responding to the homoeopathic line of treatment. Once you respond curatively to homoeopathic line of treatment there is no need to keep on the dietetic restrictions. That is the actual cure what homoeopathy gives.
