41. Rabies Vaccine

Since rabies is an incurable disease that can even inflict humans, administering a rabies vaccine to your dog is required by law. A rabies vaccine is given when the dog is between 16-18 weeks of age. An additional jab is given after one year, after which boosters are given every three years.
42. Distemper Combination Vaccine
Health Tips :
This vaccine covers diseases like Distemper Virus, Parvovirus, Adenovirus and Parainfluenza Virus in a single injection. This vaccination should be administered to the puppy after 6-8 weeks of age. A booster should also be given every 3-4 weeks, till the puppies are 16 weeks old
43. Bordetella Vaccine

It can be taken either annually or semi-annually, depending on the requirement and the level of risk the pup is open to
44. Lyme Disease Vaccine
Health Tips :
Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete called Borrelia Burgdorferri. Ticks carrying the bacteria may spread the disease in dogs through tick-bites and it might lead to various cardiac, kidney and neurological disorders. Two shots of this vaccine should be given three weeks apart and then boostered annually to resist the disease.
45. Trimming of Nails
Health Tips :
Nails of all the pets should be regularly trimmed as they have a scratching habit. When trimming the nails, be careful not to cut them too short and cause bleeding. Cut the nails until you see a dark circle appearing in the center of the nail. This is the edge of the quick or blood vessel in the nail bed.
46. Brushing
Health Tips :
Prior to bathing and clipping, the pets need to be brushed out to make sure there are no knots in the furnishings. Knots are big problem in dogs and more so in longhaired breed. Brush the beard, legs and underskirt to make sure there are no knots using the Pin Brush. Brush upwards (against the natural lay of the hair) starting at the top of the leg and proceed downward as you are brushing
47. Bathing
Health Tips :
Pets need to be bathed from time to time. While bathing make sure that the temperature of the water is not too hot. Be careful not to get water and shampoo in the ears, eyes and mouth when bathing the pet. Put cotton balls in the pet's ears to help prevent water from getting in the ear canal.
48. Drying
Health Tips :
While towel drying the legs and beard, don't rub but squeeze out the excess water to help prevent tangling the furnishings. You can also use a drier. Brush the beard and eyebrows down. Brush the legs up, starting with the pin brush and moving to the slicker brush when the leg is almost dry. Slicker brushes tend to rip out hair when used on a wet leg.
49. Long hair for winter
Health Tips :
Never shave your dog down to the skin in winter, as a longer coat will provide more warmth. When you bathe your dog in the colder months, be sure to completely dry him before taking him out for a walk. Own a short-haired breed? Consider getting him a coat or sweater with a high collar or turtleneck with coverage from the base of the tail to the belly. For many dogs, this is regular winter wear
50. Precaution in snow 1
Health Tips :
Thoroughly wipe off your dog's legs and stomach when he comes out of the snow or ice. He can ingest salt, antifreeze or other potentially dangerous chemicals while licking his paws, and his paw pads may also bleed from snow or encrusted ice
