fantastic pieces of origami

Weird isn t it? It s a bear made from American money. Not only that, but it is a bear than appears extremely comfortable on its hind legs for a prolonged period of time. It could be wearing a vest. SO why is it a bear again?

This one is really cool. Like some of the others which involved animals which could possibly be hostile towards humans, for the most part we prefer the company of one of these guys to the real thing.

Tony Stark has got nothing on this guy. He looks totally ready for action doesn t he? One positive is that he could fall from a great height and be relatively unscathed. A negative is that he could fall from a great height and have the wind take him miles off track with little he could do about it.

This one is really cool because in one way it looks mostly like a scrunched up wit of paper but then in another it looks exactly like a bird. A finch to be precise. The smaller detail is what is so good about this. Look at the feet.

This was always going to be on the cards wasn t it? Imagine sitting down to a plate of calamari and complaining to the waiter that it is not what you expected and a little tasteless. The waiter then explains that you ordered from the paper menu.

Madrid based origami enthusiast Gonzalo Garc a Calvo has a knack for fiddling with paper. He uses a variety of different techniques and papers to fold impressive animals, objects, and sci fi figures designed by a number of top origami artists. By day Gonzalo works professionally as a musician but easily gets lost in the challenge of bringing paper to life in his spare time. At the beginning of 2015, origami enthusiast Cristian Marianciuc challenged himself to create a new origami crane daily for 365 days. Marianciuc says each piece is influenced by the day he s having, a sort of visual record of the moment set against the folded backdrop of a paper bird. The whimsical cranes are generally more decorative rather than exploring folding techniques, but it doesn t make them any less fun to look at. To see more, he posts everyday on Instagram.

Origami artist and chemistry teacher Adam Tram folds some incredibly beautiful objects with paper. From dinosaurs and skeletons to flowers and warriors, it seems nothing is off limits to his folding abilities. Tram is a member of the Vietnam Origami Group, and you can see many more of his pieces on Flickr.
