Rules to play Yo Yo

21. Modifications
Kresimir conditioning coach for football club Dinamo Zagreb, created a variation of Yo Yo test which he finds is very good for making distinction between aerobic and anaerobic work point of deflection is more clear. Players change speed quicker and that makes anaerobic point of deflection much easier to see on a graph. The modification is based on Recovery Int. Level 1 test, where the distance is a fixed variable, and time is decreasing. The players start at 8 km h and run 4 intervals 1 interval is consisted of 2x20m pause 5 sec, as in the yoyo endurance test. After every 4 intervals the test speeds increases by 1 km h.
22. Winding
When starting to yo yo winding is probably the first thing you will learn. At first it is easiest to just wind the string around the yo yo with your yo hand whilst holding the yo yo with your free hand. With ball bearing yo yos you may need to place a finger of your free hand over the gap of the yo yo and loop the string once around the yo yo to stop it from slipping as you try to wind it up.
23. String tension
String tension is crucial to performing tricks, especially when youre learning new tricks. Tricks like iron whip can be particularly hard to master if your string twists when you try to do the whip.If you notice your string wants to twist up when it goes slack, its either gotten too tight or too loose. Imagine throwing sleepers one after another, or practicing Trapeze. Each time you throw, youre twisting the string a little more in the same direction. For a right hander, the winds in the string will tend to tighten up, while for a lefty, itll get more loose. Eventually itll get to the point where youll feel like you need to take the loop off your finger and untwist the darn thing.
24. Throw down
Throwing is where every trick starts at. So if you are starting to yo, learn the following well. Try to get the yo yo to sleep at the end of the string without it being tilted to either side. You should be able to accomplish this on at least every second throw before trying to learn any other tricks. There is some confusion in the naming of this trick. The trick shown on this article is known as the Throw Down and not Gravity Pull. The Gravity Pull is performed by holding the yo yo palm down and releasing it, letting gravity pull the yo yo toward the ground.
25. Sleeper arm
The sleeper is a fundamental yo yo trick that must be learnt before many other tricks can be done. A sleeper is when the yo yo is on the end of the string and spinning. It is then returned to the hand by giving the string a tug or doing a bind, depending on how responsive the yo yo is.Start with a throw down, but let the yo yo stay on the end of the string without tugging your hand. To achieve a long sleeper you need to ensure the yo yo is not tilted to one side and you must throw it hard.
26. Breakaway
The Breakaway is basically nothing but a Throw Down to the right if you are right handed. Seen from your position, the yo yo should rotate clockwise counter clockwise for left handers. Usually you let the yo yo swing around to your left hand in order to do a basic mount like the Man on the Flying Trapeze or to go on to another sidestyle trick like the Double or Nothing. The following picture sequence shows how its done.
27. Flying saucer
This trick is one of the most useful utilities, as it allows you to adjust String Tension the number of times the string is twisted without having to manually rewind the yo yo. As most tricks tend to leave the string more twisted than it was before Loop the Loop being the notable exception the throw towards the left is probably the most played. For left handed players the opposite is the case.To play these, you must use a responsive yo yo, as there is no way of binding a horizontally spinning yo yo. To adjust the string tension on an unresponsive yo yo, use the Washing Machine.
28. Bind
While originally yo yos were usually responsive they returned to your hand with a light tug on the string, in the last few years a playing style has evolved that requires an unresponsive yo yo. With these yo yos, you have to wind string into the gap in order to generate enough friction to make the yo yo return. This technique is called binding.A lot of different binding styles have evolved over the years, some of which can be seen in the YouTube video linked from the Infobox. This article introduces the most common binds.
29. Fake binds
Fake binds are a new way to bind created by Joshua Yee. Instead of binding the string around the axle, you pinch the string and pull your throwhand up, This makes the string wrap with the spin of the yoyo around the axle. This method of binding works much better than normal binds for many yoyo players.
