New Year Games

New Year's Eve means fun and games. Here are some fun new years party games.
11. Have fun celebrating
Have a spectacular party! Hope this list gave you some inspiration for your upcoming celebration. Remember to be creative and enjoy the planning experience. You guests will love your party if you put a lot of creative energy and effort into it. We would love to hear from you. If you have more party ideas.
12. Strike a light
How To Play Two party guests leave the room and together decide upon a word that the rest of the group will try to guess. They then return to the room and start a conversation together based around their chosen word, trying to give clues to what the word is but without, of course, actually saying the word itself.

When a guest thinks they know what the secret word is, they must say, I strike a light, then whisper their guess to one of the two original players. If they guess correctly, they can join in the conversation with the two players. If theyre wrong, they must carry on until they guess correctly. The game ends when all the players have guessed what the word is.

13. The vicars cat
How To Play party guests form a circle and the first person begins by describing the vicars cat with an adjective beginning with the letter A. Each player then takes a turn finding a different adjective to describe the vicars cat starting with A.

Once everyone in the circle has had a turn, it starts again with the letter B, and so on. Any player who fails to think of an adjective in ten seconds is out. The game continues through the alphabet until only one player the winner is left.

14. Fruit bowl
How To Play You need an even number of people to play this game. Everyone gets into pairs, and each pair is given the name of a fruit. Someone at random calls out the name of a fruit, at which point the relevant pair must get up and swop places with each other. It starts off simply, but the idea is that as the game progresses, it becomes more complicated, with two or more fruit categories called out at the same time.
15. Charades
How To Play This game is an old family favourite, so probably doesnt need too much explaining. Depending on numbers, it can be played in teams or individually. Choose a song, film or television programme and, without speaking a word, act it out for the remaining players who must guess what it is. The person who guesses correctly is the next to perform.
16. Adult belly dance competition
Have the women judge the men in an exotic dance contest this New Years Eve! All you need are scarves and some exotic Arabic music. Have the men cover their faces with the scarves, pull up or take off their shirts to expose their bellies. Start the music and watch the fun begin. They could dance at the same time or one at a time for 30 seconds each. Have prizes for the things like the most voluptuous or the sexiest. Make sure there are enough prizes for everyone to win something.
17. The cherry game
Ask your guests who likes cherries. When you have a few volunteers, place a maraschino cherry in a bowl in front of them. Explain that this is a race to see who can eat the cherry first. The rules are they cannot use their hands. Just as they think this is an easy game, fill each bowl with whipped cream. Now the fun begins! The winner is the first person to find and eat their cherry. Make sure you have a camera handy.
18. Bouncing ball drinking game
Have everyone sit in a circle with their drink in hand. You do need an IMAGINARY ball. The rules are simple but seem to get more confusing as the game progresses. Someone needs to start the game by saying one of the following words whiz, bounce or boing. Whiz means the ball moves on to the next player. Bounce means the ball skips the next player and moves on to the following person. Boing means the ball hits the wall and switches direction. The penalty for any error is taking a drink. Please only play this game only if you are NOT driving. Remember to drink responsibly.
19. Two Truths and A Lie
This New Years Eve see how well you know your adult guests. Have everyone sit in a circle. Each guest should think of two truths and one lie. It is much more effective if the truths are somewhat outlandish and the lie is more believable. This makes it harder for the other guests to tell the lie. In turn, have each person tell their two truths and a lie. The group gets to discuss the statements and has to guess which is the lie. The person then reveals the actual lie and the next person takes their turn.
20. Anonymous version of Two Truths and a Lie
Have each person write the two truths and a lie on a piece of paper, fold it and put it in a bowl. The host then randomly pulls them out one at a time and reads them to the group. Now the group must guess BOTH the person and the lie. It is best if they try to identify the person first.
