Although they are very healthy now, there were complications during the pregnancy which caused the sisters to be born 87 days apart! 23 weeks into the pregnancy is when complications started to arise, while the first baby was put in intensive care, 87 days later the second baby was delivered.

Montalvo, a former undercover federal agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) shares his rare yet one in a 20 million shot incident. During an encounter with a drug suspect, Montalvo came under fire. The suspect, 23-year-old William Morales, was in a car when he opened fire on Montalvo. Montalvo had fired his weapon just a fraction of a second before Morales had. Morales' bullet went into Montalvo's barrrel as the bullet was coming out, it felt like the recoil of his bullet going out. Fortunately he just fell down and wasn't injured, reported his fellow officer. It was a miracle how the bullet went into Montalvo's barrel and what strikes more is the fact that both the guns were of same make and model. He recently retired, and fondly recalls this One in a 20 Million Shot which took place in Miami, in 1987.
