21. Thaawar Chand Gehlot
Social Justice and Empowerment
Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot took over as the Union Minster of Social Justice & Empowerment here today. Speaking to the media after taking over as Minister, He said that the priority of the Government is to work for the poor. Our Department therefore is committed to work for the social, economic and educational empowerment of scheduled caste, other backward classes, and persons with disabilities. The Department would also ensure implementation of schemes for senior citizen and schemes for drug prevention. Shri Gehlot also added that his priority would be to ensure that the benefit of schemes actually reach the target groups. The Minister also added that all efforts will be made for proper implementation of schemes and ensuring that if there are any shortcomings in implementation, such shortcomings shall be attended too immediately and removed. In case schemes are not implemented properly, accountability shall also be fixed. Later the Minister was briefed on the key initiatives and policy frame work of the Ministry by the Secretary Social Justice & Empowerment Shri Sudhir Bhargava and Secretary Department of Disability Smt. Stuti Kakkar and other senior officials of the Ministry.
22. Smriti Irani

Smriti Irani (born 23 March 1976) is an Indian politician and former model, television actress and producer. She represents the Bharatiya Janata Party and is the incumbent Minister of Human Resource Development of Government of India.In early 2010, Irani was appointed as the National Secretary of BJP and on 24 June, she was appointed as All India President of the BJPs womens wing, BJP Mahila Morcha. In August 2011, she was sworn in as a Member of Parliament from Gujarat to the Rajya Sabha. Irani contested the 2014 general elections against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. She lost the election by a margin of 1.07 lakh votes. However, she gave a tough fight to Rahul Gandhi who managed to win by only third of his margin compared to all previous elections. Margin of Rahul Gandhi is substantially reduced from 3.70 lakhs votes in 2009 to 1.07 lakh votes in 2014. On 26 May 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made her the Minister of Human Resource Development in his cabinet. At 38, she is the youngest member of the cabinet.
23. Dr Harsh Vardhan

Dr. Harsh Vardhan is the Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the BJP-led NDA government of Prime Minster Narendra Modi. Being affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he is currently a Member of Parliament of the same from Chandni Chowk constituency in Delhi. He has never lost an election to the Vidhan Sabha, and has served in various capacities in the state cabinet during BJPs reign (1993 98), including Health Minister, Law Minister and Education Minister. He was the Chief Minister candidate for the BJP in the 2013 Delhi assembly election.Dr. Harsh Vardhan is Member of Parliament(MP) from Chandni Chowk of Bhartiya Janata Party. He contested 2014 Lok Sabha election from Chandni Chowk constituency on BJP ticket and won. He defeated former Law Minister Kapil Sibal. Dr. Harsh Vardhan was sworn in Cabinet of India as Minister of Health and Family Welfare on 26 May 2014.

General Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (retired) (born 10 May 1951) is an Indian politician and the Minister of State of external affairs and Minister of state(independent charge) for North East Region, in the current NDA Government. He contested Lok Sabha polls from Ghaziabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh where he defeated actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar by a record 5.67 lakh votes, the second highest margin of victory after Narendra Modi. He is a retired Indian Army officer who served as the 24th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. He was the first commando to be promoted general and was also the first serving Indian military chief to take the Government to court. In 2014, he successfully contested the General Elections.He has written Courage and Conviction: An Autobiography. In 2014, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the Ghaziabad constituency seat in the 2014 Indian general elections.Singh joined the Bhartiya Janata Party on 1 March 2014. He won the seat from the Ghaziabad (Lok Sabha constituency) in the 2014 Indian general election by defeating Indian National Congresss Raj Babbar by a margin of 567,260 votes. He currently holds the office of Minister of state (Independent Charge)under the portfolio development of North Eastern Region in current NDA government.
25. Inderjit Singh Rao

Rao Inderjit Singh (born 11 February 1951) is an Indian Politician who is Minister of State in government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a serving member of the 15th Lok Sabha, the Lower house of the parliament of India. He represents Gurgaon in Haryana and is a member of Bhartiya Janta Party. He is a prominent leader of the Ahir (Yadav) community.At the national level he has served as Cabinet Minister for the Environment, as Minister of State for External Affairs, and as Minister of State for Defence Production. Since 2009 he has Chaired the Parliamentary Information technology committee.Rao Inderjit Singh, who hails from South Haryana, alleged that the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was developing his own constituency Rohtak at the cost of other parts of the state. He presented the data procured through RTI to support his allegation: Out of a total of 5,135 announcements of schemes in Haryana, 2,045 were for the three districts of Rohtak, Jhajjar and Sonepat that comprise areas of Hoodas own constituency and that of his son Deepender Singh Hooda. Of the 3,356 completed schemes, 1,560 were from these three districts. On September 23, 2013, he resigned from Congress. He is the BJP candidate from Gurgaon for the next general election.

He has been Member of Parliament for the city of Bareilly since 1989 till date (except 2009-2014). He was also the chief whip of the party in 14th Lok Sabha. He faced defeat in the 15th Lok Sabha Elections, 2009 by a very narrow margin. He has been elected as Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha. He has won by a margin of over 2.4 lakh votes from his rival candidate in 16th Lok Sabha elections held in 2014. Gangwar is associated with social work and active politics for over three decades.
