Most Koreans have a petite frame, but Shin differs from those of his ethnicity. This guy s all of a mighty 6 feet and weighs a good 83 kg or 183 lbs. His favorite sport is snowboarding. But with the kind of onomatopoeic name he has it sounds like bong, bang, shik, shuk on the face of it, it appears as if Shin might be drummer. But then you come to his last name, one that suggests the name of a part of the body and you start to wonder who this guy is after all.

James Woods is a Brit born in Enfield, Great Britain on 19 January, 1992. This puts his age at 22 years. Woods is decently tall at 5 feet 5 inches and weighs a good 74 kg or 163 lbs. When you consider his first name, James, only one character comes to mind, the famous detective James Bond. And then comes his last name, Woods this one throws up many ideas right from Tiger Woods to woody forests. But going by the picture of James Wood, he fits none of these lines of thinking. Lucia Anger was born in Oberstdorf Germany on 26.1.1991. Part of the customs ski team, she has contested several cross country skiing championships. Her first major win was the 2008 international junior championships in Malles where she managed a bronze. In 2011 she won the sprint title in the world junior championships held in Otepaeae. At 5ft.6 and weighing 60 kg Anger is now a three time junior world champion. She has been with the German team since 2010 and is sure to make a mark in the cross country ski events as one of the top contenders in Sochi.
15. Tobias Angerer
Tobias Angerer started his cross country ski career in 1996 participating in several junior championships on an international level. His first gold win came in January 2004 winning the freestyle 30 km race beating Italian Pietro Piller Cottrer. A double world cup victory came in 2005 and 06 and a bronze at the Turin winter Olympics. Tobias or Toby as he is fondly called was born in Bavaria Germany on April 12th 1977. As part of the German cross country ski team with a height of 5ft 10 inches, he is expected to do extremely well at the Sochi Olympics.
16. Monique Angermueller
Monique Angermueller, the speed skater from Germany specializes in the 1000m and was part of the German team in the winter Olympics of 2010. Born January 27th 1984 in East Berlin, her skating started at the early age of seven. The economics engineering student had preferred studying chemistry but could not do so due to skating. An avid scuba diver, she follows a strict training routine of two hours rigorous skating every day combined with cycling and jogging. She has managed a top ten ranking in the world cup and is one of the youngest in the German squad.
17. Christian Poser
Christian Poser the 28 year old four man team gold medalist at 2010 Calgary world cup has been in the bobsled competition since 2008. Christian was born in Cottbus Germany on 16.8.1986. He has represented the German team in several championships namely the world cup of 2013 at St Moritz, the European championships at Igls, the world cup 2012 at Lake placid and the world cup 2011 at Koenigsee. Standing at a height of 6 feet and weighing 95 Kg Poser is a respected member of the German squad. He is also engaged to the US bobsledder Jamie Greubels.
18. Cory Butner
Cory Butner started bobsledding at the age of 26. Born on 27th march 1981 in California is a UC riverside graduate in statistics. Butner is currently among the best drivers in the USA. His finest achievements came in 2012 winning gold at the Americas cup 2012 beating Nick Cunningham. As a push man he has won a number of silver and bronze medals over the years from 2007 to 2009 where he won silver in as a push man for John Napier who won the national championships. Corey Butner will most probably be up against Justin Olsen at Sochi 2014.
19. Esther Bottomley
Esther Bottomley is all set to make Australian Olympic history when she becomes the first Australian female Olympian to have competed in three winter Olympics in the cross country event. The 31 year old 5ft.6inch skier will take part in the skiathlon, the freestyle events and the 10 km classical event for women. Her best till date was at Canada 2009 team sprint where she finished 18th. Among historical firsts, bottomley along with fellow skier Claire Louise Brumley shares the distinction of being Australia s first woman competitor in Olympic cross country after 26 years at the 2006 Olympics.
20. Alexandra Duckworth
Alexandra Duckworth hails from a village in Canada s Nova Scotia. Born on Nov 11th. 1987 she is a half pipe snowboarder and will be part of team Canada at Sochi 2014. Duckworth narrowly missed the qualifier rounds by one position at 2010 Olympics at Vancouver due to a broken ankle but renewed determination has led her to a complete recovery where she now sets her sights on gold at Sochi. Her past achievements include 10th position in the HP event at 2013 world snowboarding championships at Stoneham Canada and again 3rd place at the Canadian snowboarding championships at snow crown Canada.
